Plastic Surgery PPC: A Google Ads Planning and Optimization Guide

Updated September 10, 2026

Plastic surgery PPC uses paid advertising to reach people researching services or considering a consultation. A useful Google Ads plan connects a specific search intent to an appropriate page, a working inquiry process and a measurable business goal. Buying clicks alone does not establish whether a campaign is bringing the right patients to the practice.

Choose the service and goal first

Start with a service the practice wants to support and has capacity to provide. Define what counts as a useful inquiry, who will respond and how booked consultations will be recorded. Review the available budget and actual market estimates before launching several procedures at once.

For example, a practice considering a rhinoplasty campaign might distinguish consultation searches from general recovery research. Both can be legitimate interests, but they may need different content and budgets. This is an illustrative planning distinction, not a recommendation about treatment or a promise that one keyword will be cheaper.

Build a deliberate keyword and location plan

Group searches by meaning rather than putting every procedure in one ad group. Check actual search terms as data becomes available. Exclude irrelevant intent, such as professional training when the campaign offers patient consultations, while avoiding broad exclusions that accidentally remove useful searches.

Choose locations the practice can realistically serve and review the campaign’s location options. A patient’s ZIP code does not establish clinical suitability or readiness to book. Do not treat broad demographic assumptions as evidence of lead quality.

Match the landing page to the ad

A focused service page often gives visitors a clearer next step than an unrelated homepage. It should explain the service accurately, identify the provider and location, and show how to request a consultation.

  • Use only verified credentials and supportable claims.
  • Provide appropriate context and authorization for patient imagery.
  • Make the page readable and usable on a phone.
  • Explain whether the form requests contact or actually books a time.
  • Test validation, confirmation and delivery before paying for traffic.

Our medical website design services address the page and inquiry experience. No page layout has a universal conversion rate; establish a baseline for your own campaign.

Review medical advertising and audience restrictions

Do not assume that ordinary remarketing advice applies to a surgical procedure. Google classifies cosmetic surgery and injections as sensitive health-related content and restricts advertiser-curated audiences for these categories. Review its health in personalized advertising policy before choosing targeting. Ad content, destinations and other applicable healthcare policies also need review.

Do not upload patient lists or build audiences from sensitive treatment interests without an appropriate assessment of platform rules and privacy obligations. Adding AI bidding or Performance Max does not remove those responsibilities.

Measure inquiries and follow-up separately

Count a successful form submission or relevant call as an inquiry, then record qualification and consultation outcomes in the appropriate practice workflow. A button click, page view and booked appointment are different events. Avoid feeding duplicate actions into bidding as if they were separate leads.

Keep names, email addresses, telephone numbers, medical information and free-text form responses out of Analytics URLs and event parameters. Review Google’s guidance on avoiding personal information in Analytics.

Optimize with a repeatable review

  1. Check search terms, locations and disapproved ads.
  2. Confirm that forms and tracking still work.
  3. Review cost per accepted inquiry alongside booked consultations and staff feedback.
  4. Investigate weak pages or slow responses before simply increasing bids.
  5. Change a limited set of variables and document the date, reason and result.
